Sonic the Hedgehog sure is having a renaissance in recent years, but especially in 2022! So much Sonic content coming this year with the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie(my spoiler-free review), Sonic Origins video game, an open-world video game Sonic Frontiers, and a Knuckles show related to the movie announced as ‘in the works’. Well, that list just got longer with a Netflix teasing a new ongoing animated series – Sonic Prime!

Netflix announced a ton of new children-based content coming to their platform this year. Kung Fu Panda, My Little Pony, and Boss Baby are on the list of upcoming titles. Also, another season of the hit show Jurrasic World: Camp Cretaceous.
However, they did slip the Sonic Prime announcement at the end of the trailer. From what little we can see, the animation looks like nothing we’ve seen in any other Sonic show, looking really polished. Also to note, Deven Christian Mack(IMDB) will be voicing Sonic. From what little we hear of him in the teaser, he sounds like a great choice for the part!
It has been reported that Netflix has already ordered 24 episodes for the first season. I’m hoping to see more from this show soon! It really looks like something new and older fans will be able to enjoy! We will keep you up to date as new information surfaces about the show.
