Well, here we are again. The second trailer for the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home movie dropped last night and I wanted to give my thoughts and reaction to the trailer. As always if you haven’t seen it:
The trailer itself with around a 3-minute runtime is action-packed and filled with story points. It really felt like a sequel to the teaser that came out in August. Basically saying ‘okay you know what happened with the spell Dr. Strange was casting and now here are some of the repercussions.’
We got a look at the villains of the movie. More into Peter’s responsibility and Dr. Strange telling him to “Scooby-Doo” this whole thing. (Whatever that means.)
Willem Dafoe had a nice voiceover in the trailer and we got a look at the Green Goblin up close. His costume really pays homage to 2002’s Spider-Man and I am 100% here for it.
Jamie Fox’s Electro also made an appearance and looked quite different from the TASM2 look he had. Also, we got a quick pan over the Lizard and Sandman. Cool, cool, cool.
I am highly looking forward to this movie and any glimpse of the movie makes me even more excited. I’ve spoken to a few friends who aren’t as invested as I am that were severely disappointed in how much of the plot of the movie was spoiled in this trailer.
Personally, I think it was just the right amount. I feel like there is more to this movie than just what was displayed. A lot of unanswered questions. Also, this is pure speculation on my part but I really feel this isn’t all of the villains (or hero’s) the movie is going to have. If this is the swan song for Spider-Man in the MCU, I really feel that they’re going for it. Including any of these characters from past movies is really nice even if they are just seen as ‘variants’ in the MCU. I cannot wait for this movie and really anticipate something ‘Amazing’ coming out of this.
Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives only in theaters on December 17th
Until Next Time
